The TENTACLE project was prominently featured at the 2026 Summer School on Light-Based 3D Printing, bringing its innovative research to an audience of researchers, academics and young professionals working in biofabrication, advanced manufacturing and regenerative medicine.
During the event, Edoardo Bilancia delivered a podium presentation entitled:
“Innovative Multifunctional Toolheads for the Colonoscopic Delivery of Biomaterials In Situ.”
The presentation focused on the development of advanced multifunctional toolheads designed for the precise and minimally invasive delivery of biomaterials during colonoscopic procedures. As one of the key technological components being developed within TENTACLE, these innovative systems aim to support the future implementation of in situ bioprinting strategies for colorectal tissue regeneration.
As part of the Summer School programme, TENTACLE was also featured during the European Bioprinting Projects Session, organised by Prof. Marcy Zenobi-Wong and Prof. Giovanni Vozzi, coordinator of the LUMINATE project.
The session brought together several European initiatives working in the fields of bioprinting and regenerative medicine, creating a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences, foster collaboration and strengthen synergies among Horizon Europe projects.
The programme opened with a presentation by Prof. Giovanni Vozzi entitled:
“Introduction to the European Printing Networks.”
Representing TENTACLE, Dr. Irene Chiesa delivered the presentation:
“Innovative In Situ 4D Bioprinting for Regeneration of Colorectal Mucosa and Submucosa.”
The talk provided an overview of the project’s objectives and recent progress, highlighting TENTACLE’s innovative approach to developing in situ 4D bioprinting technologies for the regeneration of colorectal mucosa and submucosa.
Participation in the Summer School and the European Bioprinting Projects Session contributed to increasing the visibility of TENTACLE within the international biofabrication community while creating opportunities for scientific exchange and future collaborations.
